The City of West Hollywood will host an open house celebration to mark the completion of the Aquatic and Recreation Center (ARC) at West Hollywood Park. After the open house, the city will host the annual The WeHo Rec Expo.
The ARC Open House will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Aquatic and Recreation Center at 8750 El Tovar Place. The open house begins at 10:00 am with a ceremony on the South Lawn of West Hollywood Park with commentary from members of the West Hollywood City Council at 10:15 am. Various stakeholders who have worked on the ARC project will be present. Refreshments will be served and there will be music by the Harrison Jazz Ensemble. Guided tours will be available at 11am after the ceremony. The guided tour meeting point is located under the grand staircase just outside the park level entrance (second floor of the ARC). Self-guided tours are also available for those who want to explore on their own.
The ARC is a vibrant new 75,000 square foot space overlooking the heart of West Hollywood Park, adjacent to the West Hollywood Library. During the past three months, ARC programming has been introduced in a phased approach. With its lavish design, the ARC was conceived as a venue for a variety of community gatherings, special events, sporting activities and recreational programs.
Set on four levels with grand stair entry from the park or elevator access from the park levels at El Tovar Place, ARC offers two gleaming rooftop pools with mesmerizing views. There is a large multi-sports field that will host a variety of indoor sports including basketball, volleyball and dodgeball. The ARC also has five community meeting rooms and a conference room, in addition to offices for City’s Recreation Services Division employees, a Tiny Tot program classroom, and a public-access television studio.
Following the ARC Open House, the city’s Recreation Services Division will host its annual WeHo Rec Expo from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. WeHo Rec Expo is free and open to community members who want to learn more about the city’s recreational programs and events for children, adults and older adults. Attendees will enjoy music, demonstrations, giveaways and exciting activities that are sure to be fun for the whole family.
Limited parking for the ARC Open House and WeHo Rec Expo is available at the five-story West Hollywood Park building at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard, which is accessible from El Tovar Place, which has reopened and a connection between N. San Vicente Boulevard , N. Robertson Boulevard and West Hollywood Park.
