VMware Wins Google Cloud Partner Award for Infrastructure Modernization

VMware has officially received the 2021 Google Cloud Technology Partner of the Year Award for infrastructure modernization.

The cloud computing and virtualization company has been recognized for its achievements as part of the Google cloud ecosystem for helping joint customers accelerate their enterprise cloud transformation, according to a statement.

VMware and Google Cloud together enable customers across industries including retail, telecom and manufacturing to accelerate cloud modernization initiatives for enterprise applications with Google Cloud VMware Engine.

Google Cloud VMware Engine is designed to enable customers to modernize infrastructure, operations and applications with reduced cost and risk.

This co-developed service, powered by Google Cloud, offers customers flexible on-demand capacity and full operational consistency with existing on-premises VMware environments, enabling customers to leverage the power of Google Cloud.

With Google Cloud VMware Engine now available as part of the VMware Cloud Universal program, VMware and VMware partners can offer Google Cloud VMware Engine along with other cross-cloud VMware services to enable customers to leverage their digital transformation initiatives based on their timelines the company says.

Overall, with Google Cloud VMware Engine combined with VMware Cloud Universal, organizations are estimated to achieve: 38% average TCO savings over three years compared to on-premises environments; average annual cost savings of more than $2 million; average labor savings of $115,000 with existing VMware and Google Cloud tools; and dedicated east-west 100 Gbps high availability network with a service level agreement of 99.99% uptime for a cluster.
