The order issued by the union territory administration on Friday says the situation will be reviewed later.
Online lessons will continue with standard operating protocols suitable for Covid, it said.
“All (state / private) schools, including the dormitories in the Leh district, will remain closed for classroom teaching for 15 days with immediate effect, ie from September 18 to October 2, after which the situation should be checked again, online courses should be promoted with COVID-SOPs “, it says in the order.
The order, signed by Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Leh, also instructs the district’s chief medical officer and chief education officer to ensure that children leaving their boarding schools / hostels for their home country have one compulsory RT-PCR test and a seven-day quarantine at home with their family members regardless of their test results.
Previously, the district judge’s office had reported the occurrence of a cluster of Covid-19 positive cases from a school and had arranged the area of ​​the school campus as a containment zone and ordered contact tracing to slow the further spread of the virus
After all schools in the Union territory opened on September 1, they closed in Ladakh in April after an increase in Covid-19-positive cases.
Meanwhile, Ladakh reported a new COVID-19 positive case on Friday, bringing the total number of active COVID-19 cases in the Union Territory of Ladakh to 109; 106 in Leh and 3 in Kargil district. (ANI)
