(QCI) announced today that QCi’s Qatalyst-constrained optimization is now available as Software as a Service (SaaS) at Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) for both classics is available and quantum computers. The SaaS service eliminates the need for complex quantum programming. It enables technical experts (SMEs) to submit their complex optimization problems to Qatalyst, which uses the performance of quantum-capable computer software on classic processors to provide solutions. Users can also submit minor problems to a variety of Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) through Amazon Braket, using the exact same API, with no need for quantum skills. Since QPUs are scaled to support production usage, SMEs can present exactly the same problem to Qatalyst for hybrid classical / quantum or pure quantum processing.
With Qatalyst SaaS, users have direct access to the software and hardware required to calculate the calculation results. Users or workflows simply use one of the six calls to the Qatalyst API to submit today’s problems without new programming or changes to the problems. The service offers:
- Seamless access to Qatalyst-constrained optimization running on classical or quantum computing resources.
- Conveying today’s limited optimization problems, eliminating the need to create complex new quantum programs that are expensive, risky, and complex.
- Access a wide variety of quantum hardware through Amazon Braket, so users can avoid being banned from quantum hardware vendors.
- Improved performance, accuracy and a variety of results to make more informed business decisions compared to alternative quantum-ready and classic optimization solutions with limitations.
QCI works closely with AWS technology to ensure that Qatalyst gives classic users and workflows the best possible experience when leveraging quantum techniques and resources. Today, the Qatalyst SaaS service offers quantum-ready constrained optimization that accelerates and improves the accuracy and diversity of results on classic systems. It can accept limited optimization problems as well as diagram models for the calculation. It also includes seamless access to QPUs through Amazon Braket, including D-Wave, IonQ, and Rigetti.

Today’s QPUs are not yet sufficiently scalable to solve large calculations. Today users can run smaller subsets of problems while waiting for the hardware scale required for larger solutions. As a quantum-capable SaaS service, Qatalyst acts as a seamless bridge between classic and quantum computing.
