Jalandhar: Sanskriti KMV School held a seminar to introduce parents of Basic Group students from Kindergarten to II grades to the new educational guidelines under NEP 2020 and introduce them to a well-researched and innovative development process to complement the progress pace and overall development of the children among the founding group. A one day program entitled ‘Creating Thinking Minds’ was held in coordination with popular educator Chrysalis, an innovative company in the field of creating thinking spaces in primary education. Headmistress Rachna Monga said the school is consistently in action to bring in and implement new facets of educational implementation needed in the competitive environment of always dynamic environmental, social and life skills areas.

cadet selection

Lyallpur Khalsa College made a remarkable achievement when CUO Vivek Manhas, 1 PB Air Sqn Jalandhar was selected as the Best Cadet of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Directorate. He is among the 5 Air Wing cadets selected by the Directorate for Republic Day Camp. Rector Dr. Samra congratulated the cadets and flying officer Dr. Manpreet Singh Lehal on this achievement. dr Samra shared that NCC cadets go through tough competition for selection and that being selected for RDC is considered a great honor. He explained that NCC disciplines and trains the youth to be good citizens who become an asset to the nation. He thanked Headmaster Dr. Samra for his inspirational guidance and the Governing Council for the continued support of staff and students.

Talk about careers in banking

The School of Management, Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus, organized an online “Expert Talk on Career Opportunities in Banking and Insurance Sector” for the management students. The expert for the session was Kanwaljit Singh, Lead Trainer, Punjab Cluster, Bajaj FinServ. The main goal in organizing the expert talk was to familiarize students with the career opportunities in the banking and insurance industry and to bridge the gap between industry and academia. Parul Nanda and Dr. Ritu Rana were the coordinators of the expert talk. Sukhbir Singh Chatha, Director of Academic Affairs, commended the Department of Management’s efforts and stressed that such events will help improve students’ employability for graduate internships.

farewell function

Police DAV Public School bid farewell to Class XII students in an event titled ‘Farewell Sweet Seniors’. It was the most awaited event as it couldn’t take place last year due to Covid. All of the students were decked out for the most memorable day of their lives. Class XI students did their best to make it a day of fun and frolics, laughter and cheers. The event began with a welcome song by Year 11 students, followed by a cake cutting ceremony by Headmistress Dr. Rashmi Vij. A total of 132 students took part in the model making show. The students were awarded various titles and awards by the headmaster. The titles were: Police DAV – Swapnil, Miss Police DAV – Tanveer, 1st Runner Up Boys – Varun, 1st Runner Up Girls – Mannat Dutt, 2nd Runner Up – Boys: Aryan Kalia, 2nd Runner Up Girls – Hetal, Mr Smart – Arjun , Miss Smart – Prachi, Mr. Well Dressed – Parth, Miss Well Dressed – Khushi, King of Hearts – Simranjeet, Queen of Hearts – Ritika and the Headmaster’s Favorites – Sanya, Arshdeep, Imaandeep, Vikas, Karman and Smarth.

psychology of uncertainty

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organized an international webinar on the Psychology of Uncertainty. The webinar was organized by PG Department of Psychology. The prominent reference person for the webinar was Dr. Marta Fulop from the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology, Hungary and Science Research Center and Faculty of Karoli Gasper University of the Reformed Church. dr Marta said that varying levels of stress, anxiety and worry are caused by uncertainty in life. She explained the important role of the media in creating insecurity as there are opposing views in the same media communication. Rector Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi proposed the thanksgiving.

Career Orientation Session

A Career Orientation Session was organized by Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar at Govt Senior Secondary School, Garha, Jalandhar. dr Ramanpreet Kohli, Head of the PG Department of Informatics and IT, guided students towards future possibilities. Students have also been enriched in terms of various job roles and career paths available after Class XII. Rector Dr. Navjot appreciated the efforts of Dr. Kohli.

The Department of Sports and Student Welfare organized a sports meeting for employees of the CT Group of Institutions. The event began with employees participating in various events such as badminton, cricket, volleyball, chess and running. Director Research Dr. Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Associate Director, Admissions Dr. Vaneet Thakur, Dean Academics Dr. Anupamdeep Sharma, Dr. Sangram Singh and Davinder Singh etc. were present. dr Stressing the importance of sport in everyone’s life, Dhami also shared that the goal behind organizing the event is to inculcate the value of sportsmanship among faculty members.

Kho-kho Championship

The 2021-2022 North Zone Inter-University Kho-Kho Championship started at DAV University. All preparations were made by the Department of Physical Education and Sport. Around 30 teams from different universities take part in this championship. Vice Chancellor Dr. Jasbir Rishi was the main guest. The opening ceremony began with the march past. Up to 12 games were played on the very first day of the championship. DAV University, Jalandhar won against the University of Jammu by one innings and seven points.
